I would love to thank the staff in Brooklyn Melodies for making my journey of playing piano a pleasant and enjoyable one. The competition ended up being a sublime experience for me, being able to perform to and amongst great musicians. I was even pushed out of comfort zone by having to participate in competitions, and I have to admit that there were many times in which I didn’t feel I could do it, however I received an immense amount of support and motivation from my teachers and the staff there. There were also seasonal concerts in which we were required to perform, in places such as Dubai Mall, and even though they were nerve-wrecking, having done so many has improved my confidence level in being able to play the piano in front of a live audience. I began my dream to start playing the piano in 2008 by having weekly lessons at Brooklyn Melodies. My playing improved a lot because of her, and I was pushed to do my best - she even managed to get me to enter a piano competition! I'd normally go to classes with my sisters, and whilst waiting, I'd normally have a chat with the other staff. I was very nervous to be with a new teacher, but she made me feel very welcome and she taught me so much more about piano. Honestly, I was very lucky to be with one of the best teachers in the school. At first, I had Ms Katrina as a teacher but when she left, I was put into classes with Ms Jorjeta.
